Are you passionate about Jesus and young people? Would you like to serve both on a year out / training year?
Each year we have the pleasure of working with some very talented and dedicated people who give up a year of their lives to serve God and young people in Youth-180. We have always been humbled by what team members go on to do after their time with us. Past workers have gone onto become things like professional youth workers, teachers, pastors, church workers and managers in businesses. We are looking for some more people to join the Youth-180 Team and become a part of our story in Nuneaton and Bedworth. Is this something that would interest you or someone you know?
We are looking for people who have a passion for young people and want to learn more about youth work in secondary schools and churches. You would be learning more about the theology of youth work and learning more about God and his heart for mission in the community. Your time would consist of 3 areas: 1. Being based in secondary schools with another youth worker running clubs, mentoring, organising trips, leading assemblies and RE lessons. 2. Being linked to a local church and running the activities for the young people in the church. 3. Working at our youth centre, which is called “The Cube”, initiating detached youth work and social action projects as well as receiving training and input consistently throughout the year. Trainee’s will have certain benefits including; free accommodation, travel expenses and the study of youth work through the CYM 'Engage' course (to NVQ / JNC Level 3). You would work as part of a team of 8-10 full time people. All team members receive 7 weeks annual leave (including bank holidays). We expect all team members to commit at least one year’s service. Although accommodation and expenses are covered by Youth-180 you will need to fund your own pocket money throughout the year (since this is a voluntary position). If this interests you or you think it might interest someone else please contact Steve Blyth on steve@youth-180.org or ring the office number 024 76373180.
